This is a scary one, folks.
Yes, it’s going to get a bit frightening out there. And for some of the less fortunate on my list of characters, that’s going to be literal. They won’t all make it through. They won’t all make it past five minutes. And then some, the really, really, less fortunate, will make it. But they’ll be very sorry that they did.
I’m a horror fan from way back.
A little story here. I used to love snow days growing up in Jersey. All us kids did. And I would watch TV or play games. We did that back then. No social media, no texting. We ran to a friend’s house to talk, invited them to our house for play time, then ran all the way back. That’s how it was.
Anyway, I would enjoy watching Million Dollar Movie which aired at 4PM on a New York station, when they played the old horror flicks. Dracula. The Mummy. The Invisible Man. Frankenstein. And of course all the Abbott & Costello Meet – any of them. They were all cool and scary and wonderful. It was good that I really only watched TV on a snow day or when I had a cold and was home from school, because I loved movies of all kinds and could’ve really been addicted. Especially to the popcorn throwers.
My favorite of all?
Hard choice to make. There are so many great horror, sci-fi and ghostly stories on film. But there is one that I think is especially cool. It’s called “The Uninvited” and stars Ray Milland and many other fine talents. It’s an oldie, but the special effects are outstanding for the time period. There is a second flick I’d like to add. It’s also a wonderful film. “Forbidden Planet” – Leslie Neilsen and many others star in this amazing movie. If you have not seen either of these movies I’m sure you can easily find them on demand or for sale.
Love writing. Period.
It’s a chance for me to get out all of the creative ability I’ve had since I was a kid. I got into the business field for years and it was a huge mistake. I never fit in. Always hated it. And will say here and now that no matter what I’ll never, ever go back to it. God forbid I ever became in need, I’d find something other way to earn.
This is my calling. Or one of them because I have other things I am good at and enjoy. Such as acting and modeling. I’m a very good speaker and I am happy in front of a camera so that makes it work well. But writing will always be in my life. It always has been I just never really took it seriously – don’t ask me why because I have no idea.
That’s when I’ll begin to publish these books. I have another series, CounterClockwise, that I’m working on as well and even though I felt strongly about getting this somewhat off the ground by at least establishing a URL and a FB page, I’m not going to put less effort into the first project.
I will leave you with this much, friends. Just remember to follow your dreams. Maybe it won’t be easy and maybe it won’t even be what you think it will be, but, I can tell you this – there’s nothing like it. Nothing can compare. And whatever obstacles may get in your way are worth climbing over – even if you have to build a ladder to do that.
